NEXT NARRATIVE MONOLOGUE COMPETITION

AWMC

A NEW NATIONAL PROGRAM

From the theatre company that brought the August Wilson Monologue Competition to the world, comes the  Next Narrative Monologue CompetitionTM A new national program for high school students that will feature the works of contemporary African American playwrights and give opportunity, voice, imagination, exploration, creative expression and growth to all students.

" What excites me about this new competition is that it will expand the canon of storytelling beyond traditional narratives and allow young people to explore language and voices that look, feel and sound like them. Black playwriting is vast and varied and deserves to be celebrated and witnessed."

~Robert O’Hara.
